  • 1 cup finely chopped walnuts
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ½ teaspoon grated lemon zest (yellow part of skin)
Preparation Method: 

Preheat oven to 400° F. In a small mixing bowl, blend walnuts, cinnamon and nutmeg. Spread out egg roll wrappers on work surface. Place 1 tablespoon walnut mix in center of each wrap and spread out horizontally only to form a 2" long piece. Fold left and right sides of wrap over mix and roll bottom to top to form egg rolls. Spread butter lightly on a rimmed cookie sheet. Place rolls on sheet, seam side down, and brush tops and sides with remaining butter. Bake 20 minutes or until crispy. While rolls are baking, combine water and sugar in a small saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat. Stir in honey and lemon zest. Reduce heat to simmer and cook until rolls come out of oven. When rolls are done, leave on cookie sheet. Spoon syrup over rolls right away. Allow to cool to room temperature.
